Originally influenced heavily by European painters the American artists became a powerful force in themselves, with New York eventually surpassing Paris as the center of fine arts and culture. Some of the more famous sectors of American Art such as the Hudson River School, American Realism or the American Southwest School, and the WPA painters have made an indelible mark upon our world culture.

American Artists brought a new sense of realism and infused much of their art with vibrancy and life as well as a direct and emotional portrait of life–the good, the bad, the ugly and whatever else inspired and stirred them.

Highly sought after and quite collectible the American Artist remains an excellent addition for a collection.
